Let’s have some fun here. My way. I’m gonna ask questions, and all you have to do is read the answers. Simple as that. You don’t have to provide any answer but it’s best if you do.
1. What’s The Kyoto Protocol?
= This is sad if you don’t know what is Kyoto Protocol. The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The major feature of the Kyoto Protocol is that it sets binding targets for 37 industrialized countries and the European community for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions . Do you know which countries didn’t sign the protocol and why?
2. Who is George Washington? = First President of the United States.
3. How many official planets are there in our Solar System?
= You must have forgotten something very important here. Recently, Pluto was annouced a dwarf planet. (Dwarf planet is not a planet. Why?) This means, Pluto is not in the official planets list. In our solar system, there are 8 planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
“There are 86,400 seconds in a day. It’s up to you to decide what to do with them.”
This year is my first time watching The Espys. Awards that are presented to athletes for different categories. One of the categories that caught my attention was Jimmy V Award for Perseverance. The Espys was awarded to Kevin Everett, former Buffalo Bills footballer who fought back to make a remarkable recovery from a paralyzing injury. NFL September 2007, he laid on a football field, paralyzed after helmet to helmet hit. Everett sustained a fracture and dislocation of cervical spine (neck). Doctor even said that the ‘life-threatening” injury is likely to leave him permanent nerves impairment. He night not be able to walk again.
“I couldn’t move my arms and legs. I knew it was bad. And I was thinking, wow, I will never be able to move again. On the stretcher, I was trying my hardest to put a thumbs up to my teammates. To let them know I was alright. But I wasn’t alright.”-Kevin Everett
He has go through more than four hours of emergency surgery with eight screws, two rods and a titanium plate to realigned the spine. After two weeks in the ICU, Everett showed remarkable signs of movements and then transferred to rehab facility.
“Nobody thought I would be recovering like this. Just stick with it, fight hard, be positive, don’t give up on anything.“
Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up. “Nothing is impossible” which is why Kansas won NCAA 2008 Basketball by forcing Memphis to the overtime . Celtics won 2008 NBA 4 -2 on Lakers, the first “NBA’s six-game sweep.” Rafael Nadal won Wimbledon 2008 and dethroned five times champion, Roger Federer.
It’s possible to be in UPA Nationals. Yes. Dream big, work hard.
This number is the safe line for our global climate and a start line for global movement.
Recent science tells us that unless we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million, we will cause huge and irreversible damage to the earth.
We can see some of the impacts now.
Solutions do exist to get humanity out of the danger zone and below 350. Movements are massive and diverse. However, how do we contribute to make Earth a better place each day?
Let’s grow a plant in the house. Get the oxygen! Switch off electrical appliances if not in use. This will reduce the electrical energy thus reduce the heat generated at the power plant.
Let’s reduce the use of cars. Reduce the use car will not only decrease the amount of carbon monoxide produced which causes people to cough and have flu but save your money! We know the hike in fuel prices! If you are driving to the same place as your friends, get them to go with you. Furthermore, it’s safe to drive and have friends together with you.
I know it’s summer and yeah it’s hot. Do want this fever to continue? I don’t.
We are everywhere, and together we are unstoppable.
After almost 4 hours and 48 minutes on-grass-court action and that is without two rain delays, at All England Club, No. 2 Rafael Nadal (ESP) is the new king of Wimbledon 2008 after dethroned five times champion, No. 1 Roger Federer (SUI). He’s the first player since 1980 when Bjorn Borg won Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same calendar year.
After winning the first two sets, Federer fought to win the third. Two times Nadal had Championship point in the fourth set, but Federer took it to the fifth. The rain delayed the match for the second time. Nadal must had gathered himself before entering the court again to finish the fifth set. And yes, he finished it in style. 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (8-10), 9-7.
I say, he deserved it. I could see how much he wanted to be the champion. He played his heart out. I could see it clearly in the fifth set. It was definitely the hard way to be the champion.
SPAIN - EURO 2008 Champion
The spirit of the games between Nadal and Federer, is what I admire the most.
“Look, Rafa’s a deserving champion. He just played fantastically. He was rock-solid, the way we know him. He’s definitely improved his game.” – Roger Federer
” He always fight. He won five times before and this is my one. Roger, he’s still number one. His attitude is always positive, when he loses, when he wins. Always accept the victories and the losses with the same humble of him.” – Rafael Nadal
So now, Spain conquered soccer and tennis. The sweetness of both victories, is awesome. Awesome.
Will I have the chance to enjoy the sweetness of victory once Vanderbilt is being crowned as the overall champion of Midwest Games? InshaAllah.
Rafael Nadal of Spain or Roger Federer of Switzerland?
Turning 27 this August 8th, Federer will face Nadal, 22 this Sunday July 6th for Wimbledon 2008 Final Men’s Single at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, England.
Wimbledon is the only play on grass court and is the third Grand Slam tournament of every year after Australian Open which is played on hard courts and French Open (Rolland Garros) on clay courts. It is then followed by U.S. Open, being played on hard courts.
Fed express
Nadal seems to be doing very well on grass. He’s now a better all-court player as he won Artois Championship on grass in the same campaign with French Open. Let’s not forget that Federer hasn’t suffered a reverse on grass for past five years.
Wimbledon 2007, Nadal came so close to ousting Federer in the fifth set. This time, it’s going to be Nadal’s third appearance in the final and sixth for Federer. Number one seeded Federer against second seeded Nadal.
June 30th, Spain won Euro 2008. One week later, Roger Federer meets Rafael Nadal in the final of Wimbledon 2008.
AR-RAHMAN , 55 : And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy-like paint - (37) Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? – (38 )
Allah Almighty in Noble Verse 55:37 is telling us that the Universe will all turn into exploded galaxies looking like roses when the Day of Judgment happens.
When sky is torn apart, anything can happen. With the Earth seems fragile, where’s the love? Till when will this Earth stays alive for the next generations? Will there even be next generations?
